THe art of dad

We need to create a new narrative around what it means to be a man and a dad in today’s society. Jason’s perspective, shaped by being a dad to two kids and creating over 400 sketches that have chronicled the good times and the bad, is shared in a 70-minute play that will get you thinking differently about parenting, leading, and the role men and dad’s play in our lives.

HILARIOUS. HEART-BREAKING. SO RELATABLE.

It’s the hug you get making dinner when you least expect it. It’s setting your alarm clock at a ridiculous morning hour to sign-up for swim lessons. It’s the joy you feel from watching them tie their shoes, ride a bike and grow up right in front of your eyes. It’s the big LITTLE moments that make it all so worthwhile.

Artist and storyteller Jason Thompson’s one-man show, THE ART of DAD: big LITTLE moments celebrates the joys and pains of parenting.

Pairing his stories with sketches created over 22 years of being a dad, Thompson explores the art of raising a family while making detours into the challenges of folding thong underwear, Godzilla’s eyesight and the power of Nutella.
